Olufemi Adetola Fasanmade (d.o.b. 25.05.1965), MD, FACE, Associate Professor Department of Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, NIGERIA
He graduated University of Ibadan Oyo State (M.B.BS), and West African Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FWACP). He received numerous honors and awards: IDF Award for excellence in diabetic care (1992), Best resident, Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Lagos (1993), International Diabetes Federation Shorting Training Fellowship, Munich, Germany (1994), American College of Endocrinology (FACE - Fellowship award, 2008), The Nigeria Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (FNSEM - Fellowship award 2009). He attended numerous local and international courses. As Associate Professor, he delivered undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Internal Medicine & Endocrinology.
He is member of African Society of Human Geneticists, Chairman of Nigeria Chapter America Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, member of Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, of American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. of Editorial Board of African Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, of American Diabetes Association of European Association for the Study of Diabetes, Editor, Diabetes Association of Nigeria (Diabetes Link and Care), member of International Committee, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Treasurer of Nigerian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (NSEM, 1998 – 2008), Vice President of NSEM (2009 – 2013), Secretary of NSEM 2013 – present, member of Endocrine Society (USA, 2006 – present), Contributing Editor, Science Publications (Publishers of American Medical Journal) 2012.
He is reviewer in numerous journals and published over 59 papers in prestigious journals. He is author/co-author in 3 books and is contributor of the National Clinical Practice Guidelines for diabetes management in Nigeria.
