Mohamad “OMAR” Abu- Hijleh, MBBCH, MSC, FRCP, FACE, ECNU is President of Jordan Chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at Jordan Center for Thyroid, Endocrine Diseases and Diabetes. After his graduation from Cairo University (MBBCH), Dr Abu-Hijleh, worked in Kuwait and in Glasgow Scotland (UK), where he got his Master Degree in Medical Sciences (MSc), Endocrinology and Diabetes, Glasgow University. In London, he worked at Hammersmith Hospital where he got his Membership of Royal Colleges of United Kingdom (MRCP). Since 1992 he settled in Amman, Jordan where he got the Jordanian Board of Endocrinology & Diabetes and the Jordanian Board of Internal Medicine. In 2001 he got his Fellowship of Royal Colleges of United Kingdom (FRCP) and in 2008 the Fellowship of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE). To pursue his commitment to his career he got the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound from the American College of Endocrinology (ECNU, 2011).
In addition to his many years of experience in teaching and practicing clinical endocrinology, he participated as a faculty and invited speaker in many national and international congresses.
He was a co-founder of many medical societies in Jordan and chaired many other committees at the national and international societies. He also published many other papers in different medical journals and participated as primary investigator in many international multicenter clinical trials.
